Fashion is something that cannot be ignored. It is part of everybody’s life whether they realize it or not. People who claim to be ignoring fashion probably don’t realize that by choosing the clothes they are wearing that they are part of the fashion game. There are some people who are serious fashion followers. They religiously purchase the fashion magazines, eagerly await Fashion Week and wait to see what the verdict will be for the trends for the coming seasons. Others could really care less about what the runways say and only purchase clothes because they have to have something to wear.
Whether people like to admit it or not, first appearances play a big part in the way people are perceived. All it takes is three seconds for someone to form an opinion of someone and they usually stick by that opinion for some time before it changes, if it does at all. This is why it is a bad idea to start ignoring fashion. To make the best first impression and to give people the most confidence in their abilities, someone has to look the best for what they do. This does not mean that they have to buy their clothes directly off of the runway but it is a good idea to have some idea about what is going on in the fashion world.
Fashion changes on an ever quickening basis. To maintain a current look it is very important not to ignore fashion and to try to stay abreast of what is happening. Some people may wonder why it is important to pay attention to these kinds things. So many people say that by ignoring fashion they are making their own statement, yet they are paying attention to what a group is wearing because they are all in the same arena of fashion.
Fashion plays an important role in almost every aspect of life and that is why fashion should be adhered to in some degree. Rather than ignoring fashion, it should be accepted. One example of why fashion is important is in a job interview. Hundreds of prospects apply for the same position. Many have exactly the same qualification but someone has to stand out in the interviewers mind. The person who is well put together and dressed in a modern style will make a lasting impression as someone who is able to adapt to the changing times and knows how to change and improve themselves.
