One of the things that people prefer about Mammoth Lakes lodging is that there are several options to choose from. There are lodging types that are good for couples or families, as well as some units that are pet friendly. Many of the accommodations that are available are condominiums that are fully furnished. Other popular types of rentals in the area include town homes. These accommodations are served by a free shuttle bus that provides transportation to the ski area, as well as the town. Many of the complexes include heated pools, tennis courts and fitness areas.

Mammoth Lakes lodging includes condos that feature three or four bedrooms. One and two bedroom units are also available for travelers who require less space. Additional sleeping space is included in the living areas. Full baths are usually adjacent to all the bedrooms. The units also have full kitchens so that guests can easily prepare their own meals if they choose. All necessary utensils and dinnerware are provided, and guests can purchase what they need at local grocery stores. The living areas usually include TVs with DVD players, allowing guests to have plenty of entertainment.

An advantage of Mammoth Lakes lodging is that many of the units are pet-friendly. This is often a very reasonable alternative to boarding. Experienced dog sitters are available for owners who may need to leave their dogs alone. Local kennels and veterinary clinics also offer convenient boarding services. Some of the restaurants in the area offer outdoor dining during the warmer months, where dogs are quite welcome. A few of the local stores also allows dogs to be brought in. During the warm weather, dog owners can take their dogs hiking with them in many areas. The many outdoor attractions in the area are often considered to be pet friendly.

There are many beautiful outdoor attractions to see near Mammoth Lakes lodging. Devil's Postpile National Monument has an impressive number of basalt rock formations. The John Muir Trail is accessible from here, and it can be used to hike into Inyo National Forest. The Hot Creek Geologic Site is a good place to see active hot springs. Yosemite National Park is within easy driving distance, and has a lot to see. During the winter, the various skiing and snowboarding trails on Mammoth Mountain are the most popular attractions. The area enjoys a lot of continuous snowfall during the winter months, and snow may remain on the slopes into very early summer.
