With the National Basketball Association in limbo, the basketball sports blog has got it covered. Basketball doesn’t just happen on the court or at the NBA level, it happens off the court and in other milieus, as well.

For those who love professional basketball, there are leagues in China, Europe and Australia – all of which are signing NBA players like Patty Mills from the Portland Trailblazers and Wilson Chandler form the Denver Nuggets.

Other story lines to follow are the ever weird forays of Ron Artest into the peripheral areas of wacky. Whether he is changing his name to World Peace, getting a traffic citation that prevents the name change or is Dancing With the Stars, Artest is just one of the colorful stories that can be found during the NBA’s off season. No matter how long that off season stretches.

College basketball fans can get their hoops fix with a basketball sports blog. As the college season gets started, bloggers can cover everything from season predictions to player and team profiles. Who will be this year’s powerhouse – Kansas State, Duke, Arizona, or another team?
As the college season progresses in basketball, topics that might be covered include who is going to the National Invitational Tournament and who is going to the big dance, and of course, who should be going to the NCAA tournament.

Player potential is always a big topic. Questions like “What number will he go in the draft?” and “Will his game translate to the NBA?” are always popular subjects of debate.

It is important to know the rules of the game and how they differ in varying leagues. The variations can involve court size, the lane, when someone can touch the ball after a shot and goal tending, but all the games have some things in common.

There are five players to a team and two teams on the court. The hoop is ten feet above the floor. The ball may not be carried; instead, it must be dribbled or passed in order for it to move across the court. Shooting fouls result in free throws where the player that was fouled gets to take at least one shot at the basket from a certain distance away without anyone trying to guard him or her.

No matter what a person wants to read about the basketball game, it is covered by the basketball sports blog.
