Traditional lamps in any décor can add it share of design along with lighting purposes. Traditional usually means that there are some embellishments and some ornamentation, but regardless of what your décor design is throughout your home, traditional lamps can blend in any décor scheme.

In modern style rooms we tend to think of very clean lines. This can make a room appear cold and boring, so you can always warm the room up easily with lamps that have more curves and some embellishment. Usually with a traditional style lamp you wouldn’t think that it would add the flare you are looking for. But with so many different styles of the traditional lamp, you can use them in all décor. The same can follow with a more country style decorated home, or a more elegant room or office.

Not many people are aware that there are several different design and styles for a traditional lamp. Here is a quick review of the different designs that can be on the lamps as well as the shapes and material used to create the different designs.

The standard traditional design style is classic lines, understated floral, tone on tone patterns, muted plaids and stripes. The general feel of traditional lamps is comfort and ease where everything comes together with a unifying theme.
Here are some examples of traditional style and design lamps.

• The brass lamp

A brass lamp with a flourish has two curlicues on each side at the top of this urn-shaped lamp. This kind of texture goes well with a soft semi-transparent shade.

• The carved candlestick wood lamp

The candlestick wood lamp has an intricate design carved into the turned wood shape that has been hand painted with gold paint. These wood traditional lamps work well with contemporary wicker shades.

• The crackle urn ceramic lamp

The crackle urn lamp is a hand colored faux ceramic would best be placed on a desk in an office or in a formal or masculine style room.

• The crystal cross lamp

The hand cut lead crystals reflects brilliant sunlight into any room or office.
